Jazeena Manaf

Jazeena Manaf, an enthusiastic Mathematics teacher who has been working with GEMS Our Own Indian School since 2011.   She holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She took the position of Section Coordinator of Senior School Boys from 2014-2018. She assumed the position of Middle School Math coordinator in the year 2018-19. Currently she holds the position of the head of the department – Mathematics.

She always inspires her students to look beyond the pages of the textbook to become problem solvers and critical thinkers.  As a math teacher, she ensures that her students will have the knowledge and skills that will help them not only succeed in the classroom, but also be empowered by mathematics to become productive citizens of our democratic society. With over 24 years of conscientious and earnest work she has played a major role in shaping young minds to adore the subject. For her each and every child sitting in front of her is equally important. She always shows her willingness to go the extra mile and stay after class as needed. She was the recipient of the ‘Best Teacher of the Year Award’ for the academic year 2015-16 and received the Mariamma Varley Accolade for the month of March 2018. She received the gold medal for two consecutive years for helping her students to score a perfect centum in grade 10 board examination.
